This year, the studio that I am with is performing a really fun show called Scream. Its out first-ever halloween show, which will be completely amazing and insane!!
As I began to dance again I felt like I have improved a lot, even though I haven't really been doing much with dancing since the summertime. That was one thing I learned from BYU ballet summer intensive, that sometimes we need a break. I've heard countless stories of dancers who take a break for a little while and when they begin to dance they come back even better than before. It was my first experience feeling that way, and it felt good. For those of you dancers who feel like you are plateau-ing (not improving for a long period of time) or burning out, try taking a break for a few weeks, and work on your core and balance at home. I think that has really helped me.
So as I start my first ever experience at college, I have set up this blog to start sharing some of my thoughts as they come to me, however short they are, AND to sell stuff that I make on here. (Why not?) I have a whole bunch of feathers and I'm starting to make clips and earrings, so check back once in a while for more stuff. :)
To conclude, I have found this quote especially true right now in my life:
"Feeling good doesn't just happen. Living a life in balance means taking the necessary time to renew yourself. It's all up to you."-Stephen CoveyTake some time to relax, especially *before school, dance, or whatever. (*And after, get some sleep!) Remember, its all up to you.
